Raymond McGee, call him "Ray," served with the Army on active duty three for separate terms of enlistment. In 1981, he enlisted and served as a 11C, Indirect Fire Infantryman. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in September 1983, and ETSd in 1984.

 

In February 1986, he reenlisted as a 91A10 Medic, and completed his enlistment in 1989. During that time, he served as the Assistant NCOIC of the Panzer Kaserne TMC in Boeblingen, W. Germany and also the Chief Instructor of the Combat Lifesaver Course.

 

Then in 2000, and missing the abuse, he re-upped one more time for four years as a 91W10, Combat Medic. He deployed with his unit, the 566th Area Support Medical Company, which was attached to the 3rd Infantry Division, and crossed into Iraq on March 19, 2003.

During his eleven years in the Army, he was awarded the Combat Medic and Expert Infantryman Badges, the Presidential Unit Citation (Army-Air Force), NDSM, ARCOM, NCOPD ribbon, GWOT Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service medal, GCM, and the Overseas Service ribbon.

As a civilian, he had several different jobs in both blue and white collar occupations. Most notably, he was an Adjunct Professor for City Colleges of Chicago-Europe, a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician for 19 years, and a commercial truck driver.
